Branch Types
A brief overview of the two branch types in Reservine - PrivateSpace (space rental) and ServiceProvider (service delivery).
Branch Types
Reservine supports two fundamental branch types that differ in how customers create reservations. You choose the branch type during initial setup, and it affects the entire booking flow.
The branch type cannot be changed after creation. Before setting up, carefully review both types.
PrivateSpace (Private Space)
The customer reserves a space for a specific duration. In the calendar grid, they select a time range by clicking and dragging. Price is calculated based on duration. Each slot can have at most one reservation.
Examples: tennis courts, meeting rooms, photo studios, escape rooms, hourly apartments.
ServiceProvider (Service Provider)
The customer selects a specific service and (optionally) an employee. Price is fixed per service. Multiple employees can work simultaneously, each with their own schedule.
Examples: hair salons, massage parlors, beauty salons, medical offices, auto repair shops, consulting.
Key Differences
| Feature | PrivateSpace | ServiceProvider |
|---|---|---|
| What the customer books | Space for a specific time | A specific service |
| Employee selection | Typically no (automatic) | Yes, customer chooses |
| Pricing | Based on duration | Fixed price per service |
| Parallel reservations | No (1 space = 1 reservation) | Yes (each employee independently) |
| Calendar columns | Spaces/resources | Employees |
Combined Businesses
Some businesses may benefit from both types -- for example, a sports center with court rentals (PrivateSpace) and coaching lessons (ServiceProvider). In such cases, create two branches under a single account.
A detailed comparison including recommendations for choosing can be found in First Branch Setup.
